I am Chosen for a Purpose and I Can’t be Cursed!

You are Chosen and You Can't be Cursed!

You are Chosen and You Can’t be Cursed!

“Curse me a people.” This is what the King of Moab wished of a greedy prophet. He wanted him to curse a people who threatened to over-run his land. As a result of his fear of loss and invasion he gathered to him neighboring kingdoms and set about instilling the same fear in them. Together they beseeched the prophet for hire, Balaam to curse the children of Israel, who were also the children of God.

The story though old is one that has been told and played out through the ages of time. From Satan to Abel, from the sons of Jacob to the Pharaoh of Egypt, the enemies of God have, and will continue to try, to ‘curse’ the chosen of God.

But there is another prophet, the prophet Isaiah, who declared the words of the Lord, “No weapon that is formed against you will prosper; And every tongue that accuses you in judgment you will condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the LORD, And their vindication is from Me,” declares the LORD.”

There is no weapon that is formed to destroy the chosen of God that will ever prosper!

Take a moment to really consider that.

The weapon of lack – can’t prosper. The weapon of sickness – can’t prosper. The weapon of low self-esteem – can’t prosper.

Whether the weapon is forged in the darkest regions of hell or at the front desk of your office – it cannot, shall not prosper!

King Balak can be a foil for every demon in hell, for every backstabber, every gossip-monger, every low-paying job and every disease known (and unknown) to mankind. He had the intent to do harm to a people he knew about but beloved, he didn’t know enough. If he’d done his homework he would have never bestirred himself to seek help where there was none to be found.

Three times he sought a curse from Balaam and three times the reluctant prophet uttered blessings instead. I find it interesting that in his proclamations of blessings he noted this about the children of Israel:

Numbers 23:9(b) NLT

I see a people who live by themselves, set apart from other nations.

The NIV version puts it this way:

I see a people who live apart and do not consider themselves one of the nations.

This is a crucial point. Israel always stood apart from other nations, even when they tried fervently to fit in – they were always set apart. Why?

Because they were chosen. Chosen to Stand Apart

To be chosen of God, by God, for God is to be forever apart.

I remember when I was a little girl I always felt different from everyone around me. That feeling of alienation was, in part, due to the natural growing pains of childhood but it went deeper than that.

I was, at the time unknowingly, aware of the spiritual separation between me and all the other ‘kids’ around me. I saw things different, my awareness of God and my awareness of ‘being’ was keener than someone of my age.

I didn’t understand it at the time but even then I was chosen.

Jeremiah 1:5 (NIV)

“Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart…”

When God calls a soul to be saved that person becomes the elect, the chosen, a child of God – even before experiencing the Rebirth. Salvation, the in-filling of the Holy Spirit sets a soul apart from the world. And just like the Children of Israel, we become inheritors to the blessing spoken over God’s appointed all those years ago.

So what is it we’ve inherited? What blessing was spoken over our lives before we were even born?

Numbers 23:20-23 NLT

20 Listen, I received a command to bless; God has blessed, and I cannot reverse it!
21 No misfortune is in his plan for Jacob; no trouble is in store for Israel. For the Lord their God is with them; he has been proclaimed their king.
22 God brought them out of Egypt; for them he is as strong as a wild ox.
23 No curse can touch Jacob; no magic has any power against Israel. For now it will be said of Jacob, ‘What wonders God has done for Israel!’

In order to receive God’s blessings we must first understand this truth, “God is not a man, so he does not lie. He is not human, so he does not change his mind.” (Numbers 23:19)

The word of God is just that:  the absolute, unchanging, all-powerful Word of God. Take a look at your life, your past, has there ever been a time when God has spoken and failed to act? Has he ever promised you a thing and not carried it through?

Delays are a possibility yes but when it comes to God, delays are not a denial! Whether it’s two weeks, two years or two decades, if God has spoken a thing – it will come to pass. It has to because God is His word!

Do you know that God watches over his word until it’s been fulfilled? It’s true. Men speak words haphazardly all the time. Sometimes with intentions to fulfill them, sometimes not but God never speaks a word without purpose or without it coming to completion.

Jeremiah 1:12 (NIV)

The LORD said to me, “You have seen correctly, for I am watching to see that my word is fulfilled.”

Beloved of God, Chosen of God, know this: no matter the situation in your life right now, God has already spoken a word, a blessing over it. It may look unwinnable but every time the enemy opens his mouth to curse you blessings will pour out!

Oh my sister, my brother don’t we know the truth?! Don’t we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, for those who have been called according to his purpose? (Romans 8:28)

You matter to God. If you didn’t, you wouldn’t have been chosen. You are the elect of God. You are the chosen and you have purpose. Don’t believe the lies the enemy has been whispering in your ear. Reject the seeds he’s planted in the soil of your heart – throw them out!

Speak blessings over your own life. Speak blessings over the lives of your family, over your job, over your body and over your mind! Stand firm on the promises of God and remember whose you are.

In the coming days I encourage you to profess this word of truth:  I am chosen for a purpose and I cannot be cursed.

Don’t take it back. Stand on it and watch the blessings flow in.

My Weakness For His Strength

My Weakness for His Strength - Saintintraining.net

Give God your problems and He’ll give you His Strength!

“I have strength for all things in Christ Who empowers me [I am ready for anything and equal to anything through Him Who infuses inner strength into me; I am self-sufficient in Christ’s sufficiency].” Philippians 4:13 AMP

Infuse (vb) – to soak, marinate or steep; to fill or cause to be filled w/something; to pour into.

God told Paul, “My strength is made perfect in your weakness.” When we try to face life’s trials and temptations on our own; when we try to bare up under the strain – we will not make it. Our Heavenly Father wants us to come to Him, to depend on Him – to trust Him! He has all power and is the only one who can empower us to go through and take ‘it’ (whatever ‘it’ is).

It is God’s strength that makes us strong. We are weak on our own BUT we are not on our own because Christ promised to never leave us. He has seeped us with His strength, empowered us with His presence and He permeates our beings, our minds and souls with His divine grace and favor.

2 Corinthians 12:9 AMP

In our weakness His strength is made perfect. Thus when we appear to be at our weakest that is when we are truly at our strongest.

Prayer for this Hour:  Father, please pitch your tent of Strength all around me and infuse your grace into my heart and soul. It’s by faith that I receive it even now in the name of your Son Jesus Christ. Amen (So Be It)

Praise God Anyhow!

Praise God Any How - Saint In Training.net
Truly dear hearts I love to praise and worship our God because He’s so worthy of all the glory, honor and praise. No matter what life brings to our door step, He’s still worthy! Oh yes He is! I could not have said this from my heart some years ago because I didn’t understand or know that there is an in-spite-of praise that I would have to learn to give to our Heavenly Father.

It was real easy for me to praise God as long as He was blessing me (that’s called the-because-of praise); that kind of praise cost nothing but the in-spite-of praise isn’t free. This kind of praise can only be taught by the school master of test and trials – that’s what God allowed in order to make me who I am today and it will continue to make me in the future. I haven’t arrived where God wants me to be yet but I am changing, little by little and (I believe so are you).

It takes time to be molded and shaped by the power of God so don’t rush the process. Be patient with God and with your selves; don’t charge God foolishly but trust Him in what He’s molding and shaping you to become.

You can trust his plans for you because He loves us!

It took me many years to believe and accept His love simply because I didn’t love myself. I thought surely I wasn’t worthy of His love. But Satan is a liar and he can’t tell the truth. He can’t make me believe that lie anymore! Oh bless the living God! How can I believe anything but the truth: God loves me, me and yes, me again and again! God has brought me through so much, from the troubles I experienced in my youth through two bouts with cancer as an adult – I just can’t tell it all BUT I can tell you this much: there’s nobody who can do us like Jesus!

When I had colon cancer in 2006 God gave me this scripture to read:

Psalm 34:19 (KJV)

Many are the afflictions of the righteous: but the Lord delivereth him out of them all.

In 2010 when I was diagnosed with breast cancer He once again gave me words of encouragement from His holy word:

Isaiah 43:2 (NKJV)

When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; And through the rivers, they shall not overflow you. When you walk through the fire, you shall not be burned, Nor shall the flame scorch you.

And it kept getting better! When my daughter and I went to my sister’s house to tell her the doctor’s prognosis (so that she could sympathize with me), I’d barely gotten the ‘bad news’ out of my mouth when God anointed her in the Holy Spirit and spoke these glorious, victorious and powerful words to me: “It’s not bad news. You shall live and not die.”!

Oh what a rejoicing time we had in that kitchen! Dear hearts I’m still here! A living, breathing testimony of God’s healing and keeping power. Let the redeemed of the Lord say so!

I have only to think on his goodness, his mercy towards me and I get so happy, happy, happy in my soul – I’m like David dancing before the Lord. Dear ones even at sixty years of age this living testimony can dance before the Lord all night and then some. Thank God there’s no age limit in the Spirit.

We are going to rejoice in heaven with Him for eternity what more for this short time while we’re here on earth?

Yes Dear Hearts, God will carry us through the rough stuff and it can get pretty rough but when you can’t stand like you want to, hang on where you can but whatever you do don’t let go. It’s in His name and through His blood that we have the victory.

Don’t do what I did years ago; don’t fall into Satan’s trap of despair. The last thing our foe wants us to do is praise and worship God. That demon of the soul knows that God inhabits the praises of His people. There’s no wonder the Heavenly host cry aloud, “Holy, holy, holy is the Lord God Almighty, who was, and is, and is to come.”

To those of us who have not lost the will to praise God from our hearts, continue to praise Him no matter what may come. And yet there are some who are not so sure they can hold on for one more hour let alone another day. This is why it’s so important that we pray for and encourage one another. I never thought I’d lose heart when it came to praising God but I did and that can happen to anyone.

To those who are in a struggle today I encourage you to keep praising your Heavenly Father. Hang on in there; your help is on the way. Our Heavenly Father loves us with a great and everlasting love. His love will never fade away and there’s nothing we can do about it except receive it, embrace it and hang on to it for dear life. Dear ones believe me when I tell you no matter how long you’ve been struggling this too will pass. That you and I have the victory through Christ’s blood and his powerful name is not just a saying, it’s a promise!

If you are in need of prayer ask someone you can trust to pray with you; if not please know that we’re here and if you’d like to make a prayer request be assured that we will take it before the Lord. He still sits on the throne; His ears are ever open to His children’s cry and His eyes see every tear we shed. Although we may not personally know you, our Heavenly Father knows us all in a very real and personal way. He knows His children and we are the apples of His eye.

Zechariah 2:8 (NIV)

For this is what the Lord Almighty says: “After the Glorious One has sent me against the nations that have plundered you—for whoever touches you touches the apple of his eye—

There is a song that says: When praises go up God’s blessings come down. Those lyrics have ringed true in my life and in many others’ lives – why can’t it ring true in yours? God is a keeper, his power is sustaining and his love for us is never-ending. Look up and be blessed.

Finally, please know that you are more to Rebecca and me than a face we see on Facebook or here on the blog; you’re our brothers and sisters in Christ. We love you and hope to encourage you in Christ, when you hurt we hurt and so does our Heavenly Father.

Remember, no matter what, praise God anyhow!
